Pizza Anyone?

August 19, 2008

Thank you to every person big or little who helped make Summer Reading Club 2008 a success!! From the kids who read, to the parents who read to kids and those of you who were able to attend the programs, You Rock! 716 kids registered for the Summer Reading Club this year, that’s up from only 574 from last summer!

As you can see from above, we had an awesome turn out for our Pizza Party. Many thanks go out to Brian Bromsted and Anne Marie Koukides for providing us with music to move to and to the Friends of the Library for purchasing the pizza and pop.

Dylan Beckman is the 2008 Helen Buhl Memorial Essay Contest Winner, and Honorable Mentions went to Madison Grover and Kelsey Scott-Avery. Great job writing!

We also raffled off all the twenty gift baskets on Friday at the party, so check your voice mail to see if we left you a message to pick up your basket.

Mrs. Gillard, Miss Katie and myself had so much fun this summer – we always love to see your smiles, so be sure to stop and see us through the Fall. Story Time schedules have been posted and we are all working on bringing you the best Story Times yet for this fall.

Just a Reminder —- There’s still time to complete your reading goal of 600 minutes. The Secret Garden will be here until August 29th. ALSO – all children who completed their goal have a Completion Certificate waiting for them at the Children’s Room desk.

Firefly Bee Program 8.1.08, originally uploaded by RichmondM.Library.

Friday (8/1) the Fireflies enjoyed a program about Honey Bees with Judy Spring and Charlie Augrom from the Genesee County Park. We learned so much and everyone had the opportunity to try on Beekeeping gear.
Can you guess who pictured above? Me neither. Keep reading and don’t forget to come by and hunt for the Picnic Basket and receive a prize.
