Check these out…..

The Children’s Room is proud to announce the addition of  Playaways, the newest technology in audio books, to our media collection. Playaway is the simplest way to listen to an audio book on the go. Each unit comes preloaded with one book on it. No cassettes, CDs or downloads. Simply plug in earphones (or earbuds) or a car adaptor to Playaway’s universal jack and enjoy! And at a mere 2” x 3 ¼”, the Playaway is the ultimate in lightweight portability. A Playaway may be borrowed for a 3-week loan period.

Each Playaway comes with:

1 Lanyard and 2 AAA Batteries; one in the player and one extra in the package. Each battery lasts for approximately 12 hours.

Due to health reasons, patrons are required to provide their own earphones for use with Playaways. If needed, new earphones may be purchased at the library’s main desk for $1.00 and may be used in any future Playaway unit you borrow.

1. Plug your earphones into the universal headphone jack.

2. Press the Playaway button to turn on the unit.

3. Press the Playaway button again and enjoy!

You can find our Playaway collection in the Children’s Room green book shelf by the gift baskets. Due to the size of the collection at this time, there is a limit of 1 Playaway per patron.

We have a great selection of children’s fiction - check one out today.

-Miss Kelly    (My daughter loves these for car rides - she can pause it and pick up right where she left off when we get back in the car AND the Bonus= She doesn’t have to listen to my music!)
