I am collecting clear plastic lids for a holiday project at home. If anyone has some of these collecting dust at home, I would love them. Big or small it doesn’t matter. Even labels I can scrub off. Here is a picture of what I’d like to do with them.

Many Thanks, Kelly

Staff Christmas Giving

I was thinking aloud in front of a few staff members and wasn’t sure if all staff were still interested in making a group donation to a local charity in lieu of small gifts to one another. To my knowledge no firm decision had been made for this year.
Would everyone like to make a collective donation?
Suggestions for a local charity?
As a reminder there is no minimum/maximum level of donation. Make a donation to your ability.

and, We’re back!

Read Across America

Read Across America at Richmond Memorial Library

The National Education Association is once again sponsoring Read Across America. This is a nationwide reading celebration held annually in conjunction with Dr. Seuss’ Birthday. Now in its twelfth year, the program focuses on the importance of motivating children to read and helping them master the skills necessary for reading literacy.

Dr. Seuss is turning 105 this year! Join Richmond Memorial Library in Batavia as we celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Richmond Memorial Library will be joining thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers across the nation on March 2nd to promote the importance of reading across America.

Please join us at the library to celebrate this exciting event. Special visitor, the Cat in the Hat will be visiting the library for stories, games, crafts and fun. We will be celebrating with a birthday cake and beverages. The library will also be giving away treat bags for every child in attendance. Please RSVP for this exciting event being held in the Children’s Room at Richmond Memorial Library Monday, March 2nd at 6:30 P.M. To register call the library at 343-9550 extension 4.

On March 2, the National Education Association is calling for every child to be reading in the company of a caring adult. We hope you can join us!

Beat the winter blahs and stop in with the kids to relax and enjoy some of our newest books, music, DVD’s, books on CD and Playaways.  It’s too cold outside to be stuck inside without a great book.

Don’t forget we have great programs scheduled for all ages this winter. Check out our Story Times, Family Matinees, Fun & Games after school program. Mark your calendar for our Chocolate Saturday Program on February 14th at 10:30am!
